The mmx-error at the first page is known?Okay, since the error disappeared, I can nag about the Link to the Browncoat-Wiki, which isn't formatted right. Apart from that, I like how forum and site have the same style Nice job! And yay for the page with the separate series! I just wanted to listen to some old "Bold Moves".

Nice change. Not too drastic. Organized and neater. An eye-catching image without too many competing images. Much improved. Will site visitors take note quickly of the menu choices / navbar links at the top? Do they need just enough more emphasis to show off their importance, without competing / overshadowing the content below? I'm not sure of the best answer to my questions, because I've gotten used to the site and I'm used to most web conventions. This is a good look at what's upcoming.

I agree, it looks very sleek. Particularly the matching style between the site/forums.
The font sizes between them are different, though - the forums are a bit larger. Obviously extremely trivial... I like my fonts small, so it may just be me.
I also wonder about the links above the banner, as they're sort of tucked away. Although, it's the same style as the forums, so it is consistent.
Really, those are minor thoughts, which is good; the new site looks wonderful. I honestly had a bit of trouble with the old site, as it felt a little clunky (or maybe just big). The new one makes browsing much easier, in comparison, and the colors create a softer experience.
Kudos to the development team!
I'm still so behind on the episodes... but I love that you guys are still keeping up the hard work at the Signal. It shows, and it really keeps the Firefly spirit alive and fresh.

Re the navbar (the links above the logo). It is my firm view that any element which occurs on every single page you visit within the site, needs to occupy the minimum possible area of screen real-estate.
It is also my firm view that people (especially Signal listeners) are smart enough to understand good old-fashioned hyperlinks, which are after all, core web technology. (Big buttons and dancing flash images came later, and I hate them all). I really don't want to have to change the navbar, so I think you're probably going to have to cope with this one.
Re the font size difference: That is something we could do something about. We'll certainly think about that one.

Having ubiquitous and consistent navigation across all the elements of our web presence was a cornerstone of this redesign. Our site is growing into a collection of different applications, each one specialized for a given task. With that split of applications, we thought it very important to ensure that there was always a good way to move between these application. What we made was simple (the text links), but it should be everywhere and always work the same. Not always easy with all the different technologies we pulled together into our new presence.

I agree, consistency is very important. While I may feel it a little out of the way near the top, you're right that it's a better choice to make switching between locations on the site seamless. It would be aggravating to follow links on the forum via the top... then not be able to find them on the main site. For some reason, the different software factor didn't cross my mind last night; to that sense, I definitely support the design.
And just to reaffirm: it looks great, it really does. I'm a picky person in designs, and those are the only two bits that stuck out at me... and they're extremely minor. And one was clearly intentional, for good reason. You guys have an amazing team around here.
